A new beginning

I have homeschooled my granddaughters for the last 1 1/2 years. They are 8, 10, and 13. Today we have a young man, age 11, joining us. Because of this we felt we should change our homeschool's name from Grandma's Girls Homeschool to Lifelong Learners Academy.

Teaching the kids to be lifelong learners is my goal. Yes, they need to learn facts, figures, etc., but I also need to help instill in them a desire for more learning and continued learning outside of the school setting. That way they will continue to grow as adults.

We use an eclectic approach with four full days of academics with Fridays full of Park Days and 4H. We are preparing to plant our garden with high hopes for a bigger yield this year, and we will start our nature journals as soon as the weather allows us to get out.
